What Fellow Human is

Fellow Human is a mood-based AI companion application with text chat, optional voice input, and multilingual conversations in English, Hindi, and Telugu. No account or sign-up is required.

The Android version is currently the released platform. A future iPhone or iPad release may use the same shared backend and shared interface logic, together with any platform-specific native work required for that release.

If you want us to investigate a technical issue, include the approximate date, platform, language, and companion you were using. If your request relates to explicit feedback you submitted, include that detail as well so that the relevant record can be located more efficiently.

AI replies can also be flagged from inside the chat by using the report or feedback controls on a reply. That route is intended for offensive, unsafe, inappropriate, or materially poor-quality AI content.

Privacy and AI-use summary

  • The app discloses that it uses AI before first chat use.
  • Messages and optional voice transcripts are sent to AI and speech services for processing.
  • Full chat history is not retained after a conversation ends.
  • Explicit feedback and in-app reports may be retained for quality-improvement and safety-review purposes, but new feedback is not stored as a full chat transcript.
  • No account is required to use the service.

Permissions and device behavior

  • Microphone access is optional and used only for voice input when the user chooses to use it.
  • The app does not require contacts, call log, SMS, or camera permissions.
  • Language, display name, renamed companion labels, and AI consent acknowledgment may be stored locally on the device.

Troubleshooting

  • If voice input is unavailable, confirm that microphone permission is enabled for Fellow Human on your device.
  • If the app reports that the backend is waking up, wait briefly and try again. The hosted service may require time to resume.
  • Changing the companion language during an active chat starts a new session so the opener and replies remain in one language.
  • If a reply appears delayed, check your network connection and try again after a short pause.

Urgent support by region

Fellow Human is not a crisis service. If you need immediate human assistance, use local emergency or crisis resources instead of relying on the application.

  • United States: call or text 988 for crisis support. Call 911 if there is immediate danger.
  • India: call Tele-MANAS 14416 or 1-800-891-4416 for urgent emotional support. Call 112 if there is immediate danger.
